Cadillac Escalade 2007 navigation system and map discs

Dear colleagues,

I recently have bought a new Cadillac Escalade 2007 vehicle and have a trouble with its navigation system. Nobody (including dealers of Cadillac) in Russia does not know what navigation system used in 2007 Escalade and there are no official navigation map disks available for both Cadillac and GM tracks.

After series of exercises I have found that Range Rover navigation map disk with Moscow and S-Pitersburg can be used on new 2007 Cadillac SRX navigation system - and it is a denso map disc. Unfortunately, this disc did not compatible with my Escalade (or I have burn it wrong way ).

As far as I know previous Escalade (xxxx-2006) have different navigation modules in comparison with other Cadillac models, which used delphi navigation with denso discs.

Can somebody help me to figure out what navigation system from what vendor is used in my 2007 Escalade and what vendor provide digi map discs for it?

Due to the fact that navigation systems in Russia are in beginning stage of the development (I mean digi maps for them) can somebody take a snapshot of the root directory of Escalade 2007 navigation map disc and post this listing here or send it to me thru private messaging in order to give me a chance to compare this listing with available map discs for other vehicles and may be find one, which will be compatible with Escalade 2007

two additional questions:
1. Do you know who is the vendor of navigation system in Escalade 2007? I mean not disc vendors but hardware?
2. Do you have example of such disk with you? I just need to have simple directory listing which returned by "dir" command in CMD prompt - in order to compare file names and structure of disk in general with other disk I already have collected from different sources
Problem is that officially all of this disc still does not released and both of them in the development phase except discs for BMW, VW and Audi vehicles

Is it possible to see listing a root directory ("/") of any navigating disk which is used in this Delphi Touchscreen Navigating Radio in Escalade 2007? I mean Northern America, Canada, the Europe or any other accessible disk - does not matter what territory it represents.

I need this listing in order to compare it with unofficial discs I collected from different vehicles - to find the same structure and identify the right one which can be used in this system

in order to do that, you are going to need original map disc and DVD Decriptor, and then you'll see everything

Yes, it is, but, problem is that I did not have the original North America or Canada or whatever else discs!

And it is impossible to buy any of this disk here in Russia.

I really need only one very simple thing - somebody, who have Escalade 2007 navi disc (for any region - this does not matter) will take this disc from his car, put it into the dvd drive in his computer, make root directory listing (simple dir command in cmd prompt - i need just file names) and then post the listing of file names which exists in the root directory of the disc here. Is it so difficult to do?

• Call the Cadillac Map Update hotline at 1-877-628-3472.

also, if you goto www.navteq.com and click on store, you may get some additional information.

one more thing. the nav dvd-rom is not encrypted or copy protected. it just requires a dl disk, and a burner that can label it as a dvd-rom.

The next steps - it is to find proper disc format I think and thats it!

thnx a lot! It is very important - because previously I have tried to burn SL DVD disc (not a DL) and did not label it as DVD-ROM. I have the same file structure as you posted in previous message, but, unfortunately, burned disc still did not recognised by my Escalade as proper navi disc.

Now, according to your recommendations, I will try to burn DL disc and mark it as DVD-ROM! I hope it will work!

You can buy a Nav. disk on Ebay for $30. Some may ship international.
