5.1 Surround Sound?

Forgive my ignorance, but the sticker from my '07 states that I have Bose 5.1 sound, but when I try to enable the option from the audio config, the button remains disabled. How does this work? Is it automatic?

I believe the dvd needs to have 5.1 for the function to work.

There are DVD 5.1 music discs that sound great in the Escalade, that is the only way to get 5.1 sound.

Check out the Crystal Method Legion of Boom dvd audio disc. Sounds fantastic in the escalade with 5.1!

There are some good DVD audio discs from the Eagles, Sting & even The Neptunes. My local Best Buy still has a small DVD audio section...or check Ebay.

If anyone is looking for something with BALLS....go find the Refused CD "The Shape Of Punk To Come" on 5.1 DVD Audio. It truly is a revolutionary punk album.

What would be great if someone out there can give the insists on how to keep the factory look and nav radio. But have the sounds of an aftermarket set. I wanna add some amps and subs. Good looking out anyone.

I picked that one up, and it does sound great, now if there were more choices it would even be better.

Many of the Satilite Radio stations broadcast in 5.1. Try it, they sound great.

I tried a couple of Super Audio CD's (SACD) but only getting 2-channel sound. It won't let me select 5.1 CH, see photo. The manual says it will play SACD's which are 5.1 ss. Any idea what the problem is?

My switches by itself to 5.1 when you are playing a 5.1 disc, you can not over ride it. I always check mine when playing and they have worked great

It has to be DVD Audio to get 5.1. SACD won't do it.

Carl, are you using SACD's or DVD-A's? John07 says only DVD-A will give 5.1.

Is anyone getting 5.1 from a SACD?

The manual says these units will play SACD. Did Cadillac neglect to mention that you can only get 2.0 from a SACD? I wish I knew that before ordering 6 disks!
