question about EXT folding gate and bed cover

I test drove a new Ext yesterday. When folding down the rear hatch to extend the bed, I didn't notice any certain place that looked like it was meant for the glass to be stored in. Did I overlook something or is the glass intended to be left on the floor when the hatch is folded down?

Along the same lines, there isn't any specific storage meant for the removable bed cover pieces, correct? Just toss them in the bed or leave them in your garage if you are removing them I'm guessing, right? Thanks in advance!

On the actual Midgate itself, on the section behind the seat back, there's a specific spot with a bottom ledge and two top turn handles where the window is stored. You essentially just take it out, and bingo, right onto it's formed mounting spot on the lower Midgate, and you're ready to go--look there again, and you'll see. Then the Midgate can be folded, left up, etc.

As for the covers, back in the first few years of the Avalanche and EXT, they USED to provide a custom luggage bag that was made specifically to fit the 3 removed panels, and then clipped onto the side of the bed inside. This went away a couple of years back, due to decontenting, and I now believe the intended "storage" system is simply to stack the panels together where you used to put them with the case, and use a strap to hold them there. We had an '02 Avalanche, and never used the bag, but if I had one now, I'd try and find one for that purpose.

Actually I picked up my EXT this past Feb and the truck came with a "cargo net" that is supposed to be used for holding the three panels along one side of the bed. I haven't used it yet but assume it may come in handy for some. Funny thing is the dealer was supprised to find the thing in the back seat of the truck when I picked it up. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be there and I got a freebie...
