Direct Wire Passport Radar Detector on my 07 Lac

Has anybody direct wired their radar detector on their 07? If so details on how you did it would be much appreciated. I want to do it too, but not sure if its hard to do yourself or if I should have the dealer do it.

I hard wired my V1 but didn't like how it sits, anyway I wired into the overhead console, picked up a switched wire, did the same on my 03', been using a solo battery unit until I make a better mount. I wish I could tell you the wire color but it was over a year ago, and I am old.

I hard wired my Rocky mountain from the Acc box under the dashboard on the drivers side near the pedals and routed the wire by the side beam and then above the front windshield under the linning till the rear view mirror.

I used invisicord. It attaches to the mirror harness. Pics I supplied them are here for which wires.

I used that invisicord on my last Vette, forgot all about it, thanks for posting the info.

Wow, thats an awesome little product. I will have to order one, thanks! Never even heard of it.

BTW, do you have to take the mirror off, or does it just plug right in?

Also, I have a passport that has the seperate mute botton on the cord. I like that when its going crazy in store parking lots etc... Have you found that you miss this feature with the Invisicord?

Ok, one more question. Does anybody know where I can get a mirror mount for my Escalade? Or at least have a picture of one so I can see what it looks like?

You unplug the connector from the back of the mirror.

I'm using a Valentine One so the mute is the volume button. You will lose the mute feature through the cord but you will still have the mute button on the front right button on your Passport.

Looks like you got this answered in your other thread but I'll chime in on the mirror mount and say I don't think it's an ideal mount. I got one on my Corvette and I don't like the extra vibration it introduces to the mirror.

I like the visor mount from these people better than the mirror mount in my Vettes.
