    Crackling Noise?

    How come when I gun it (WOT) in my 07' Escalade Ext I hear crackling noises coming from my engine?

    Probably the knock sensor you are hearing.

    I hear the same noise, took it to the dealer along with a few other issues and they said they could not duplicate the problem. (of course)

    Spark knock?? Need to increase the octane of the gasoline you are buying.

    Run tank almost dry. Fill up with highest octane you can find.

    I use 93 octane only, always have. I get it from BP

    I always use 91 Octane, but still have the noise????

    Its your valves floating due to low octaine or bad gas. I read your post the day you posted it. I couldnt figure out what you were trying to describe. But the other day wile leaving a toll plaza I floored my ext for the first time. The valves were floating so bad that I thought the engine was blowing up. I think it is very hard today to find good gas. It might have 93 octaine but it might have other impurities that degrade the gas.
