Has anyone else had this problem with their 2007 Escalade? I have taken the car into the dealer 4 times and they can't seem to fix it. It seems like I have to take it in again.
The front cigarette lighter fuse keeps blowing out and the only thing the dealer has done is replace the fuse. The first 2 times I complained they replaced the fuse and didn't bother to trace the source of the problem. The 3rd time, they investigated further and supposedly found a wire grounding out going to the lighter itself and fixed it, but the day after I picked it up from the dealer, it popped again. It is now the 4th time.
Anyone else have this problem? If so, what did the dealer do to fix it?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Make sure there is nothing on the burner of the lighter, they should just replace both parts, they are pretty cheap. I had a Grand Cherokee a few years ago that did the same thing, after a few trips they replaced the lighter assy. and never had another problem. |

Now I have to take it back again which is inconvenient. I may take it to another dealership. One that knows what the hell they are doing.

Some dealers think you have nothing better to do but keep bring your car/truck back for repairs. |

I used mine to run a air pump and it blew. Service rep requested for me to use the plug in the center armrest for power accessories - fuse rating is higher. |

It was never being used when the fuse popped so I think the fuse block is damaged and needs to be replaced, but the dealer won't do it.

I can tell you those things blow all the time. on the 02-06 escalades they even blew more often then the 07s do. It does have alot to do with what your using in the cig lighters but also has alot to do with GM only uses a 15 amp mini fuse in that circuit as well. With the older escalades if that fuse is blown the Tech 2 wont even power up.....so what Im saying they blow more then what people realize. |

Our 2005 Escalade never had this problem and we had it for 30K miles and almost 2 years before selling it.

U should probably take it to your dealer and check to see if you have a short some where and make sure there isnt any metal objects in the socket example: coins. That will definitly make it blow the fuse. |

There is nothing there. I am sure the dealer would have found it the first 3 times.

How do you know the fuse is blown if nothing is plugged in? I doubt the fuse block is bad or even wiring. What I usually see all the time is cell phone chargers or the like causing the short. Like I said what or how did you know the fuse was blown if nothing was plugged in? Thanks,
