What Wax to Use? 2007 Black 'lade

Remove this ad
I apologize in advance for I can imagine this question has been asked a million times....I tired I search, but nothing seemed to come back.

I have a 2007 Black. Looking to detail it tomorrow and was wondering what everyone uses. I see some people swear by this zaino (which I am assuming you can only direct order?), I always used Maguires on my Jeeps, and my grandfather swears by Mothers on his Caddys.

Lookign for something that is going to protect and give it a great shine, while not taking 36 hours to do.

Thanks for any suggestions.
Brian

Re: What Wax to Use? 2007 Black 'lade

Well, I dont have an Escalade yet in the process should be this week just signed up last night with this site... a buddy of mine said its def best to use like Zanio i believe Z5 since you have a black escalade and thats what im picking up this week Im going to purchase that also it has a swirl reducer/remove in it so you wont see many swirls ...

Quote:
Z-5 PRO delivers:
• Unbelievable levels of shine, gloss, depth, clarity, and reflectivity
• Enhanced swirl-hiding capabilities
• Unbeatable durability - lock in that show car shine for months
• Improved ease of use - wipe on, wipe off
• No dust, no staining, no streaking
• Greater value
Sounds good to mee... hope I was some help

I like Meguiars #16 Mirror Glaze or Mothers FX Synwax. The Mothers is great if you want to get it done quick.

USE MEGUIARS NXT SPRAY WAX!!!!!!!!!! The best product you can use for the quickest result!!! I just got done last Monday waxing the '07 EXT and it took me a mere 30 minutes to wax the whole thing and it looks unbelievable!!!! Also the Meguiars Shampoo and Conditioner soap is the best to use!!! Brilliant shine and it foams and soaps awesome!!!!

Re: What Wax to Use? 2007 Black 'lade

Use either the Zaino Z1 and Z2 combo or Adam's polishes stuff. Adam's seems to have a slightly better line of products, but the Zaino stuff stays on the car for wash after wash which is what I noticed when I used it.

Don't use the Z5. I used it and it actually put scratches in my new car's finishes, so I used the Z1 and Z2 instead. Once the Z1 and Z2 bond to the paint surface, you will get this amazing deep gloss shine that will last through at least 10 car washes.

Z-5 can not put scratches in your cars finish, it's non abrasive, and has no cleaners either.

With black it's not just the wax, it's everything that touches your car needs to be good quaility, your towels, use either 100% cottonm or a cotton microfiber like DF Towels, if you use regular microfiber do a CD scratch test to make sure your MF towels are not scratching. Wash mitts should either be 100% cotton or 100% sheepskin, do not use a sponge on your paint. Synthetic waxes will outlast carnauba waxes and blends 5 to 1 in durability, and nothing lasts longer than Zaino. If you go with Zaino contact me and I will be happy to advise what products to use, all my cars and SUV's get done twice a year, and we have a new product that you wipe on and walk away, no buffing off needed, and it lasts 6-9 months.

Re: What Wax to Use? 2007 Black 'lade

You should definitely use Zaino. I have a black 05 STS, and I've used it exclusively since the day I brought it home from the dealer. It's a little work to clay the whole vehicle on day one, but once you're done you will be blown away. You can add as many coats as you like, and you can use the spray-on wax once every month or two to maintain the smooth, deep shine.

You will be very, very happy with the results you get with Zaino.

Zaino! You can not go wrong. I use it on my EXT and my Black BMW. It is great stuff. Check the picture.

Re: What Wax to Use? 2007 Black 'lade

I used the new Turtle wax ICE. I was very impressed at how easilly it applies and comes off. Made a nice deep wet like shine on my silver 04 EXT and it did not take me all day to do it wreak havoc on my arm. The other products mentioned prolly work very well, but for me, the ease of use, and the fact that it can be applied in direct sunlight with no ill effects were pretty good selling points. http://www.turtlewax.com/
