Homelink programming?

Remove this ad
Alright, apparently Homelink is smarter than me. I followed the steps and it doesn't seem to take the programming. It doesn't appear to be a revolving code as it doesn't have the "learn" button on the receiver/motor.

Any help?

Re: Homelink programming?

It the opener is less than 5-8 years old there should be a learn button, some are in the front and some are in the back of the opener unit, never had any problems with the older units, now the new ones are another story

Re: Homelink programming?

I'll have to re-hunt in the garage and see if I can find something. Thanks

Re: Homelink programming?

The steps in the owners manual were wrong. GM sent a revised amended set of instructions in the mail regarding programming homelink. Lucky for me someone had already posted the link with the proper instructions.

Re: Homelink programming?

Re: Homelink programming?

If all else fails, since you have a 2005 try the Canadian method as well with your vehicle running.

Canadian Programming/Gate Programming
During programming, your handheld transmitter may automatically stop transmitting. Continue to press the HomeLink
Universal Transceiver button (note steps 2 through 4 in the Programming portion of this document, found on page 2)
while you press and re-press ("cycle") your handheld transmitter every two seconds until the frequency signal has been
learned. The indicator light will flash slowly and then rapidly after several seconds upon successful training.

Re: Homelink programming?

I called the MFG of my garage door opener and he asked me Make/Model/Year and then he pulled up his instuctions and walked me right through it. Did it for the Lade' and the Benz'

Worked great both times.

Re: Homelink programming?

Finally found the learn button on the motor (had to take off the light cover) and it worked like a charm, just like the manual said. Thanks alot guys for all the help, the links to the video on the homelink site really helped alot.
