I'm looking at getting an '04 or '05 used Escalade, and am just interested in knowing if there's anything I should keep an eye out for.
Also, does it seem to anyone else that color plays a huge role in price on the used market? It seems like white and black are the most in demand, and that red and blue go for $2k less than a comparable black/white. Has anyone else noticed this? |

Welcome to the Forum. Black and white are the two best selling colors, that is why they get slightly more money used for them. Both 04' and 05' (basically the same) , you will find some good deals if you look, and there is a pretty big price difference from dealer to dealer. |

Mine has lived half of it's life in the service dept. I've only had it a little over a month. |

I just bought my first one- an '04 Black loaded. I bought it from a Cadillac dealer- was able to get it for $6,000 less than blue book. Has a 100,000 mile warranty and was certified. Helped put my mind at ease buying it from them. |

The Tahoe/Yukon that they're based on are known as pretty reliable vehicles. That's actually what led me to the Escalade, on the used market they're not much more than a comparable Tahoe/Yukon. |

Drive the vehicle and listen for the exhaust vibration resonance or moan. This can happen at various speeds and throttle settings including coasting. My 04 Esculade ESV has this problem and is quite annoying in a $60K vehicle. There are a couple of bulletins on this. Neither bulletin has corrected the problem in my vehicle. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
