    Unhappy "Normal" Leaks?

I own a 99 Escalade with fluid leaking from almost every component that holds fluid. The truck has 94,000 mi on it. ALL recomended maint. has been performed before it was due and in some cases doubled. Leaky intake manifold, rear end seals rear main once-now its leaking again water pump etc. etc. My question is: is a certain amount of leakage "normal" all of the items at the dealer I'm beginning to wonder if there is a Balance-vibration issue with every component of the vehicle. HELP! Budget repair advice greatly appreciated.

    Re: "Normal" Leaks?

We have what seems to be a leak from the front end differential. It's an oily lubricant fluid with a very sweet smell. There are drips coming off the drive shaft near the front gear box...where the driveshaft meets the front axle. Any ideas? Has anybody else leaked from there?!

    Thanks,
    Kevin

i tow my mustang and camaro with it quite frequently. This past weekend, i did a 680 mile trip. had no problems... only complaint was that after sitting in the truck for 3+ hours my butt and back were SOOOO hot from the heated seats, but i just turned them off and was all good then

    Unhappy Front pinion seal leak

Our problem is most likely the front pinion seal behind the front yolk.

The oil we are dripping is most likely gear box oil. Smells just like 85-90W gearbox oil. Probably need to drop the driveshaft and replace the seal.

Anybody ever have this problem, too?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Smile Re: "Normal" Leaks?

I just fixed my intake gasket leak...I have a 99 lade and I was really worried it would lead to bigger problems so I got it fixed....$400.

if you love your lade and want it to last..you do what you got to do to keep it in working condition...

    good luck
