Problem was it wasn't functional for me. I needed to be able to haul shit around, and I couldn't do it in that car. The escalade is so much more practical, not to mention it gets far more looks. Now, if you are serious about the shelby, that would probably get just as many looks as a lade.
I still find it amazing how many people look at my escalade, but they completely miss me in my brothers denali. I have some bulky 22s, but it is seriously the same truck. It all depends on what badges you have... |

How about a story from the other side...I sold my '96 Yukon 2wd to buy a 2004 Ponitac GTO. I love my car, but I most assuredly miss my truck. I sometimes miss arriving to a party with five people and 2kegs of Bud Light in my ride. My truck was larger and slower and didn't corner nearly as well, but I had made a lot of improvements to make the truck better and to make it mine. I had finally gotten to the point that I could catch my buddy's 6-cyl Mustang. I accomplished quickness with an ignition upgrade including an Accel coil and MSD wires (iridium plugs are the new/best thing, and my platinum SplitFires fouled out ), Fram AirHog cold air kit, Magnaflow mid-pipe, and Flowmaster 2-in/2-out muffler. My mileage went up from 16.5 mpg to 19.5mpg although most of these addditions WERE part of my 100k mile tune-up (or,like the mid-pipe, were repeairs), so I wasn't running 100% efficient to begin with. To deal with the corners, I noticed that 60-series tires were a night/day improvement from stock, but the best improvement came when I installed my 2" drop spindles and 3-1/2" drop hanger and shackle kit accompanied by a set of Toxic shocks. The spindles require 18" wheels or larger to clear, but I kept the stock springs in tact for GREAT ride-quality, and with a lower center of gravity it cornered much-much better. I was going to take performance to the next level with a Whipple, but I had to get rid of her when I became infatuated with the new GTO. My truck was very good to me, and I still have my moments when I wish I had back my ole' Doo-Doo wagon again. Can you guess what color it was? |

Also I get what all of you are saying. Basically I think I am going to end up getting this car and loving it for how many heads I turn. But im sure once I am done with it I will get a sports car once again... |

You know the color; you've seen too many full-size trucks/SUV's in this ugly shade of brown to not know what I'm talking about. When I bought, it was fully loaded and I thought the color would grow on me like the aquired taste of wine, but it only grew on me like a fungus! I hated it. I had this awsome truck with the cappy-est color paint - I guess It's good for a chuckle now though. |

I just found some of the pics I had taken. Here she is wearing 60's series tires, clear lenses (complete with the Titanium [chrome] bulbs), a 2" front drop and a 2-1/2" drop in the rear.
...Man I loved that truck.

I used to have a bmw, and yeah it was nice to drive but I feel as though an escalade is just a better ride. The ride quality from the escalade is amazing its like driving a sports car and it does go pretty fast. My escalade with the 6.0 takes off as fast as my bmw did I feel like. Not to mention the escalade is always fun to drive, and you can get huge wheels for it. An escalade in my opinion or more flashy and you get alot more looks in an escalde with rims than a bmw with rims. A bmw is nice in the summer but the escalade is nice all year long. You dont have to worry about winter driving, and its still good for the summer. However, one bad thing about the escalade is the gas miliage. If you were to get a m3 ro 335i you are going to be spending the same amount on gas, but you wont have the reliability of driving it all year long. The escalade in the winter works out really well I drive to work in a foot of snow with no problems. I plow so I go out before the streets are even plowed. |

I love my truck, but really miss the torque of my Stang.
I still have the Stang, but it's no longer the daily driver. |

I came from a 550rwhp daily driven mustang to a escalade on 24s...and I regret it at times....I bought a sportbike in the meantime until I can afford a fast fun car to get my speed fix. If I could do it over again..i would have kept both. |

Drive mine 100 miles a day. Love the roominess. I have a lead foot and have 5 speeding tickets. My Eldo gets better gas mileage, but has an electrical issue right now. But who buys these cars for MPG anyways. Buy American!!! |

I got my Escalade cause I love the room (family), look & being able to tow. I have the AWD so Ive never had a close call running off the road. When I need to get my "Sports Car" fix, I just take out my M3 |

I wouldn't buy the Escalade - you sound like a real sports car buff and the Lade (especially the EXT) will not make you happy at all and you will likely regret it all the time. The EXT is as far away from a sports car as you can get
If you have the $$$ I suggest you look into an Audi S6 although S4 is also good. I would buy an Audi before a BMW any day of the week and with the new style the Audis are a real bada$$.
P.S. My backup vehicle is a '96 Tahoe just like the picture above (except for the bow) and I have never seen a more reliable vehicle in my life. I would never get rid of this SUV even though all it does is sitting in the garage |

We have an 03 vette (yellow) custom rims and tires, full body kit, and corsa pipes. While its great to look at, and drive (short distance) I really love my escalade ride. That vette is show and go. But not at all comfortable.
I take it out sometimes on the weekend and waste a half tank of gas just going fast lol
We bought the car in 03...has 11k miles on it. Really just driven when I feel the need for speed lol |

For me, when it come down to buying the family wagon I went and looked at new escalades as I had every intent of selling my 911. After almost shitting my pants at the near 80K price tag, I decided to keep the 911 and buy a 05 ESV platinum with 100,000 miles for peanuts. We have logged 10,000 miles with the ESV and I can say I am glad I did not buy a new one as this thing is perfect... | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
