maybe he purchased an 03+ dash piece which would give it a bigger cutout.. i never took the radio ut of my parents truck so i dont know off hand how much room is inside.. but if you buy the bigger dash piece for the 03+ escalade there might be room to fit a double din.. |

CaddyKidd is right... i have an 02 EXT & that is not the dash plastic that it comes with. Just look at the colck, the Bulvgari clock didn't start till later around 03 or 04. |

I have an 02 with eclipse 6600.
just have to cut a hole out of your original deck so that it fits the eclipse, then bondo it up and paint it, to make it look nice. |

This was done before in the Avalanche club. Basically just take a '03+ bezel, shift the HVAC control a tad (I think), and then you also get a clean double din opening without modification for different new head units. |

By those pics, it definatly looks possible to swap.
I ended up cutting, filling and finishing my original piece. And the double din ended up lined up with one egde of the HVAC. I was worried it wouldn't cleat the wood grain at the top right. |

Heres mine... messed it up because of the position of the pins, so I need to move it up and slide it the left more before I fiberglass. I leave all my head unit stuff, AC, etc. to my center console. Thats a valuable place of the Escalade, fill it up with a 15-1/2" monitor.

You can install a double din into an 02. You need to know what you are doing. The 03 bezel does not fit. You can see some pics on car domain, also the cutting will be tricky but take it piece by piece |

I have an 02 escalade with the clock..
I am also trying to put a dd in my dash......
I would like some info on the actual dash install not just the bezel fabricating.. I am hoping someone has pics
