Contact me for step by step instructions, the 03 dash will not work at all. and there is alot more to do than just cut the outer dash bezel. you will need to some what gut the inside of the dash to accommodate the DD and have it fit the factory mounts. you dont have to relocate the A/C control if you do it my way. And if you ever want to pop in your factory radio or put in a single din you will be able to, the only permanent modification you will do will be to the outer dash bezel. you will need to buy a new one if you ever want to convert back to factory or single din.

I suppose the easier (and less flashy/theft-prone) method would be to just install a single DIN adapter kit for 2002s and use a single DIN flip-out radio. Problem with that is you'll have to either be in Drive or pull the shifter toward you when you want to close/open the LCD or it will hit it everytime it opens or closes.

What a mess, and I thought Class II in the '03 and up was annoying.

How can I get a Double Din unit on my 02 Escalade? I am interested in seeing what you have. Purchasing an 03+ dash casing wont work??? Why???

The AC unit is a different size. They AC control will have a half inch gap underneath it. I did see one lade on the forum where they lowered the unit. Not sure how, but it looked good. PM me if interested
