Independent Cadillac Service?

Remove this ad
We need to know if there is an independent Cadillac shop in the South Bay area of Southern California.

The Torrance authorized caddy dealership leaves much to be desired.

Please reply to our urgent request. It doesn't have to be in the South Bay area, but some place nearby would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Independent Cadillac Service?

No one replied to my request, which is fine . . .

But I thought I'd explain why we were trying to find an independent business to get the families' 2002 Escalade repaired.

Over $900 for a fuel pump replacement seems too much to me. Labor alone was over $450.
The dealer said that their flat rate labor is 4 1/2 hours to change the pump! Too long for such a simple job.
The pump was $463 plus tax. All this on a 2002 that is barely out of factory warrantee with only 53,960 miles.

Is such a repair commonly needed on such a young vehicle with such relatively low mileage? Is this common?

You guessed it. The dealer is Penscke Cadillac in Torrance.
$23 for a new fuel filter plus (are you ready for this?) $50 to install that filter.

Again, that's way too much in my opinion.

Cadillac wonders why they are in trouble! Small wonder they are still in business.

Now you see why I am trying to located a dependable independent Cadillac repair
and service business in the greater South Bay area of Southern California.

Meanwhile, the other vehicle, an E-420 will be 10 years old next October and has 128K
miles now and just keeps on "trucken" with no such "minor" expensive problems.

BTW, there is an excellent independent MBZ business in Manhatten Beach
where the Benz gets serviced at much more reasonable rates.

Re: Independent Cadillac Service?

If you own an Escalade it is assumed that you have more money than good sense. At least that's what the dealers think.
