Our trucks don't have any resonators besides the huge silencer you took off when installing the corsa sport. You want more than the sport sound? I really wasnt sure if I wanted to go with the touring or the sport when I purchased mine, finally went with the sport one. Figured for the $$$ spent might as well get results! I does sound awesome, but it is loud. I guess the only way to enhance sound would be to increase the size of the pipes after the cats (they are small), and going with headers?

Re: Volume of an aftermarket Exhaust

Ah okay that makes sense. I love the sound of the sport but I just want more of it. "Beefier" would be the word I would use. I would just pull the cats but that's a big no-go these days. I may look into new piping after the cats. You think that will make any difference? Aren't headers really expensive?

Re: Volume of an aftermarket Exhaust

Headers are not that bad moneywise. One member had some on his lade and posted pics last winter. I had some on my fullsize blazer, and I didn't use locks on the bolts. Those needed to be tightened every month! I also removed the cat, we don't have emmissions testing here, and I tho I could do without the O2 sensor and bypass that with a resistance, it didnt work. I did need to install a new heated O2 sensor anyways. All that with a dual flowmasters and it sounded mean! But the drone inside was awfull! Couldnt drive more than 30 minutes at highway speeds without taking a break. I sometimes wondered if it sounded louder inside than out???

You can check the pic I posted in the tranny fluid replacement thread about the exhaust pipe being wimpy after the cats. Its also got a flat bend for 10-12 inches to improve ground clearance.

Re: Volume of an aftermarket Exhaust

My 2006 EXT has B&B exhaust with long tube headers and high flow cats. It sounds mean, it is quite loud but sounds good, the drone inside can be a bit much at certain RPMs. I can't say what it cost as i bought the truck like this. I personally wouldn't change it, personal preference I guess. Performance wise, there is not much on the road that can keep up to my truck, although the supercharger helps a bit

Re: Volume of an aftermarket Exhaust

If you have a decent muffler shop in your area you can get a custom one done to look and sound pretty much however you want. Chances are you'll save money too. I went this route when looking for a dual setup (one on each side - side swept) and realized no one made one. Local shop charged just over 500 for cat-back with 3 1/4 pipes.

Re: Volume of an aftermarket Exhaust

I love my Corsa Touring exhaust. No drone inside the truck. Sounds great when you are on it.
