Went out to lunch and saw the new 2007 Avy lowered on 24s and I have to say it looked pretty clean.

Safety is another issue. I'm not going to buy another car just because those people dont like my car. If they want to judge me... they can. I just wanted to vent and I see a lot of people have the same problem. I'm not changing so I might lose some business but whats the point of makin money if i cant do what i want with it.
Thats not true, they should be able to fit in the trunks of most cars. I had my moms Lexus for an open house and I had the signs all in the trunk with zero problems.

But I dont blame you for not wanting to get another car for work, I wouldnt and I wont do it!

You are always selling yourself. People want to deal with people who they can relate to. most people cant relate to a luxury suv that has modifications. Out in So cal everyone has rims on there cars, but i can see how even in so cal some would not like it

I work for my dads real estate company and when I pull into the parking lot I've had a couple things happen. I've had some people walk in and look at it and ask me some things about the wheels, and I've had some people ask if it's really mine since I'm only 18

I'm told by other agents I work with that it's a good thing I have it. It makes me look like I'm doing good for myself or whatever

Just remember no matter what kind of car you drive, be yourself not the person you perceive. And no "big hat, no catle". It's the "money in pocket" not the "money around the neck". Have some class.

I see some gentleman driving the best car in the world, but when he walk out, you have respect for him. And I see some people walk out the car, you just want to say "trash".

I am 34, drive an '03 EXT (stock 17's) and run the highest end and highest profile property in my company's entire portfolio. I am setting the standard. If others do not like it, they need to get with the program. I am obviously doing something right. BTW, did I mention the company I work for is the largest commercial and industrial REIT in the nation.................:-P

My opinion is that is has alot to do with the way you carry yourself as in individual. Of course, it is easy to prejudge people before you even see them. But it only takes about 10 seconds to change their mind if you approach them in a respectable manner, shake their hand firmly and have an intelligent conversation. If you appear intelligent and articulate. They will respect you.

With that being said, image does mean alot. People need to know that they are in good hands. You driving an Escalade shouldnt change their mind. If it looks clean and respectable and so do you, that is all that should matter.

There is nothing wrong with an expensive truck on nice wheels. It shows class and prestige, people will respect you for your nice taste. However, some people go way overboard. A good looking truck with wheels to set it off is one thing. But like someone else said, take that same truck and lower it, put a crazy paint job on it, play the music real loud and come walking out with all kinds of jewelry and gold teeth and you have just ruined it...you will get no respect and no business.

Wheels are important in your world I guess If you weren't looking for attention why would you drive a pick up truck on 24's. Image is everything... we live in a material world.... As a professional, you need to project a professional image.... part of being in that business. People that buy and sell houses want a mature professional who they trust. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Caddy guy, I love them, pimped or stock. I have three of them... but the fact is most of the older generation don't trust "big wheel pimp car" people. My mother in law calls them "Marijuana Wheels" HAHAHA :-) My advice...DTS as your work car... Pimp truck as a play vehicle.
