    2000 Escalade - Noisy Compressor

My AC Compressor has been quite noisy lately when running, a rattly/grindy sound. It's only a couple years old and was replaced new, it's a Delco unit. The system blows nice and cold and works fine, just makes the engine sound like hell when it runs. Please don't tell me I need a new compressor.

Sounds like it has bad bearings

It will need replacing if the bearings can't be replaced

My ac has been moaning like you wouldn't believe for the past three years(praying it doesn't get me out on the hottest day of the year to fail)

The ac in my mom's 02 failed months after we got it and now we have a random no ac issue(I think its a sensor) not fun when its 100 outside with no ac

    MuzicMan,

Did you have your Delco part installed at a dealership? My Cadillac dealer provides a Lifetime Warranty on repairs they perform with their parts. It's worth looking into.

Re: 2000 Escalade - Noisy Compressor

I haven't been to a dealership in years....insane pricing and the ones by me have terrible service. I once got the car back with the alternator disconnected and parts missing. Best thing I ever did was start going to a local place with experienced mechanics.
I'll have to look into the compressor warranty, they are an ACDelco "authorized" shop, maybe it's covered.
