    Mini-Restoration

My family's Escalade was built in May 2005, we bought it as a "new" vehicle in Sept. 2006 with 11k miles on it. In the 8 years since then, my wife and I have driven it as a daily driver and across the country and Canada multiple times. Now it has 137k miles on it. Over the years, it started looking banged up, scratch here, bulb out there, etc...just started to feel a bit old. Since we can't afford the new 2015 Escalade, we decided to restore our 2005 and keep it another 8-9 years. I did the following things to it this summer and now it's looking almost brand new, certainly drives and feels brand new.

    1. Brand new Rims and tires, off a 2014 Escalade, installed with new 2005 model TPMS sensors
    2. New shocks and air pump
    3. New billet looking front grille with new emblem
    4. New front windshield, old one had a crack across it
    5. New LED tail lamps, one of the old ones was cracked
    6. New buttons for the steering wheels, old ones were not lighting up
    7. New buttons for the navigation/stereo, old ones were scrached up
    8. New rear wiper motor
    9. All fluids changed including both differentials, power steering, brake, etc...
    10. Rear tow hitch removed, cleaned, repainted, & re-installed
    11. Transmission service
    12. Intake cleaned
    13. Front and rear brake service, new pads, rotors, & calipers all the way around
    14. Clay bar'd it, scratch remover as needed, 2 coats of Meguiar's polish, & 2 coats of Meguiar's wax applied
    15. New Kenson HID fog lights

Here are some pics showing off the truck.

Thanks all...even after 8 years of driving it everyday, this truck brings a smile to my face everytime I drive it.

In regards to the 22" rims, my experience has been very positive. I do feel the road a little bit more compared to the 17" rims but the truck seems to handle and corner so much better with the bigger rims.

I like those rims on your Truck. I was contemplating putting larger Cadillac wheels on my 04' and using my stock wheels for winter. are the 2014 wheels the same bolt pattern as the 04' ?

Absolutely sensational! I've always wondered how the 2014 rims would look on the older shape. Better then I ever imagined. Great job, did you have to clean any oxidisation off the headlights?

Yes. All 22" wheels from the newer Escalades (2007-2015) will fit the older 2002-2006 Escalades.

Thanks for the compliment. The headlights are a bit oxidized and still need to be done...forgot about them.
