    alternator out ?

was working on boat this weekend, listening to radio in truck, maybe 2 hrs
tried starting after and would only half crank
tried few more times and same, never enough to spin it over
got a jump from neighbor, quick n easy
NOW my volts show like 12.5 at idle, falters some and jumps right to 14 where it always WAS prior at anything above idle
batt tests at 12.5, terminals snugged up
did i toast my alt with the jump?
    anything else to check ?
    and no errors on display

    Re: alternator out ?

Charge the battery with a charger. The alt. will maintain the battery but it's not designed to "bring it back from the dead" so to speak.

    speedwell tn,
    I second charging the battery
I have been in your position before and have learned to start the truck if I am sitting and listening to my tunes if over a certain amount of time
