    Ckp reprograming

Ella guys I'm new to this but I have a question. I have a 2003 escalade with 64000 miles on it I recently had trouble starting it it would always start on the first time it would keep cranking. I took it some where and they plug the scanner in and said it was the ckp and cmp sensor So I brought it from the dealer they installed it. They said it had to reprogrammed. But they can't because when you try to with the tech 2 it say rev the engine until it reaches the rev limit but it's not its suppose to rev to 4000 rpm it revs to 6000 rpm. So the tech guy is telling me that I have a problem that the wire is either broken or pinched but I have to trace the wire to the computer does anyone have an idea what color is the wire for I can trace it or I there an other solution that's cause this problem. Thank you in advance for the help I really need it because I'm leaving to Florida next and I'm driving.

I'll move this up to the proper year Escalade forum. You may wait forever down here.

Seriously consider a multi-year subscription to - the GM service manuals and diagnostic procedures plus a LOT more.

A pinched wire is effecting the rev limiter?? What wire?

Are you saying the engine should be limited to 4,000 RPMs when not in drive?

Reprogramming/calibration usually isn't even necessary. Does the truck run and drive correctly? Of so, don't worry about it.

FWIW, both the CKPs AND CMP failing at the same time is pretty unlikely in the first place.
