    Question Regulator cable snapped off

So here is the situation. My 14 year old daughter was about to get out of the rear passenger door. She said the child lock was on. I rolled the window all the way down so she could open the door from outside. When I tried to roll it back up, it sounded like it wanted to try, but it wouldn't move. I tried the switch on the drivers side and the rear passenger door.

I took the door panel off today and I saw the pulley cable had snapped off. Does this mean I only have to replace the window regulator? 04 Base BTW

Also, the window is "stuck" in a position in which I cannot simply unbolt the glass from the track.

Yes jus the regulator if you can find it separate, your gonna have to force the window carefully to get it to a position to unbolt it

What i've done before is pushed the window back into full up position, and then use a block of wood, cut to the right length, to pin the the window up. This allows you to use the vehicle while you are waiting for a new regulator to show up. Regulators are real easy to find in junk yards, if you happen to have a local one, will be much cheaper then the dealer.

Do I need to cut the rest of the cable(s)? This sucker will not move. LOL

If the cable is bound, yes, cut it, you need to get the window to move manually again.

Thumbs up Re: Regulator cable snapped off

Thanks guys...I didn't wait. I went to Autozone and picked up the regulator with the motor. I had a coupon for $15 off so that helped. Looks like my model was the regulator and motor as one whole assembly. Install went super smooth while I was watching the NFC Championship game.
