    fuel gauge not reading properly

I have a 04 6.0 AWD and no matter how much fuel is in the tank it reads empty with that annoying fuel light on knowing I have fuel it still makes me uneasy. I did some searches it seems the problem is with the fuel pump and its sender attachment. And the whole unit would have to be replaced.I tried techron a bunch of times the problem started a couple years ago and has just gotten to the point of always reading empty. With that will I have to worry about the whole unit failing ad far as the fuel pump itself. And has anyone done this job before is it a major pain or is it something I should be able to handle myself.

When one part fails on the fuel pump and sending unit it is best to replace it as a whole so you don't have to drop the tank more then once
