Kenwood DNX9990HD problem GPS. Please help!

Kenwood DNX9990HD installed about a year in my 04 Escalade. This morning I tried to use GPS. It shows a black screen, on bottom show "GPS OFF". I tried everything I could think of setting, still couldn't turn it on. Read through its manual, there's no such artical show how to turn it on.
Any help/suggestion to show me how to make it work again will greatly appreciate.

Have you reset it using a small pin and pressing the red Kenwood light at the bottom? My 9980 HD did that a few months back and that is how i reset it

I did that, too. Press a tiny RED triangle to reset to factory setting, still no luck. Disconnected battery cable didn't work. Somehow, the unit still has all memories such as radio stations, cell phone previous setting!
    Thanks for your input.

Pull the battery cable or the radio fuse and see if that resets it

Try looking for any and all updates available for your unit on www.kenwoodusa.com Firmware, GPS, etc. They just released numerous updates especially after Apple's iOS7 launched. The GPS ones had to do with something happening to the SD card containing NAV Data if my memory serves me correct.

    Hope it helps

I have the 9980hd, so I am just taking a shot in the dark here... have you tried holding the eject button, and removing/re-installing the sd card? it may be the problem(unless you are using the gps info on the internal memory), or the gps antenna could have come unplugged, it is a small connector on the back of the head unit, (you would have to pop off the trim panel and remove a few screws to pull out the unit)
