2005 Escalade Base Model - Rear Air Compressor & Shock Absorbers

My compressor wouldn't stop running when people were in the back of my car so I took it into the dealership. A few hours later, the service writer comes out and tells me that it needs new "air bags" in the back because they are all cracked and leaking. Are the "bags" that he is talking about the same as the shock absorber or is there something else that the compressor hooks up to? Does anyone know if they are really "100% compatible" and require no dealer install? I want to get two of these and have the local tire shop install, and save 1000 bucks.

    Is he talking about this???

I ditched the front and rear auto-ride shocks and I have no complaints.

How hard are they to replace? I looks like I need to replace my rear shocks.

Not hard if you know how to work on a vehicle

Just need a couple floor jacks to raise the truck and axle

Just make sure you unplug the air lines before removing the shocks

Cool, thanks. I just found the writeup for it. Looks simple enough.

I hate paying for something that I can do fairly easily!

    I know what you mean
My dealer wanted almost 200 to replace the spark plugs I did them myself and saved that much
