    Idle issue

    Hey Folks.

I seem to notice that whenever my Escalade comes to a stop at a stoplight or stop sign the engine acts like its on the verge of cutting off. When i drive it seems fine, but just when its about to slow down or stop, i notice the engine jerking as if its fighting to stay on.

is this a spark plug or timiing issue? or something else?

    Any help appreciated.

    Re: Idle issue

Can be a variety of things.

    Loose spark plug/s - bad spark plugs/wires
Bad fuel injectors or just dirty
    cylinder miss fire
    motor mount/s
    vacuum leak

If your check engine light hasn't come on then chances are it will & when it does then you will know presicely what is causing the issue but in the mean time have a mechanic or yourself (if you know) check the motor mounts.
As well the fuel can be bad so buy a fuel injection cleaner, try to put as much gas as possible in your tank (at least 1/2 way) then drop the fuel injector cleaning solution into your gas tank & go on a highway trip & drive as much as possible until you see yourself almost on low fuel. It should clean your injectors up and give your engine a less of a rough idle.

    Re: Idle issue

I would say keep it simple. Start out with the recommended service procedures. How many miles are on the truck? fuel filter, spark plug ( Proper gapped ) air filter, What year is the truck?

I thought the same thing the day my truck died on me in the middle of the road(not fun) ever since I clean the throttle body once a year no matter if it needs it or not

    Re: Idle issue

I did the simple, which was swap out the plugs wires this weekend. And that seems to have corrected. It runs as smooth as ever. And whem i am at a stop it is idling like a kitten.

    Thanks much guys.
