    Please help! 2004 6.0 parts to Scotland

    Am in the UK and have a 2004 Escalade 6.0 V8 AWD base model.

    I had to buy a piston and rock auto listed one which I purchased. It arrived and seems to be 55mm which is roughly 10mm too big.
    They have no idea what part will fit my vehicle and I'm struggling to figure out what to do. I've already purchased a piston with expensive postage that doesn't fit and don't want to make the same mistake twice.
    Can anyone tell me what part number I need to order. If anyone can help I'm willing to pay money into their paypal account as a thank you.

    It's for the drivers side rear.

    Please help, I'm stressed out and really need the vehicle for family purposes.

    Thanks in advance.

    They said I need to know If the pad type is d792 or d794. I've no idea how to find this out?

    Send a PM to Chris, here:

    Include your U.S. VIN, and the part you need. He should be able to get you a part number.

    There are 2 designs of piston for 2004 LQ9 "N" code engine, N code would be the eighth digit of your vin is an "N".

    STANDARD SIZE :

    19178305 = IT HAS 4 DRILLED OIL DRAIN HOLES AT 3RD RING LAND. ---->USE 19178305 PISTON W/RING KIT 19178307 ONLY.

    0.5MM OVERSIZE :

    88894242 = PISTON, (W/PIN) (UPPER COMPRESSION RING IS 1.5MM THICK. FOR 2ND DES SEE 89017479) (INCLS RETAINER) (0.5MM O.S.)

    89017479 = PISTON, (W/PIN) (0.5MM O.S.) (UPPER COMPRESSION RING IS 1.2MM THICK. FOR 1ST DES SEE 88894242)

    Catalog doesn't list two designs for standard size, only one but specifies what ring set to use with it. Have you bored the block oversize or is the cylinder the standard size?

    Thanks

    Why not just buy a rebuilt caliper since you have the old one off? Go to ebay and search for a Centric Rear Left Caliper for your Escalade ( Centric is the brand I have used)

    Sorry... I can't help you but I did have a similar problem with Rock Auto.
    I ordered a set of spark plug wires from them for another car. Everything fit well except the one wire which was too about 6 inches too short. Rock Auto was not able nor willing to help out.

    Hi,
    Well I contacted them and explained the problem, expecting them to accept responsibility since they listed and sent the wrong part and because I'm in the UK the postage was 7 times dearer than the part itself.
    But nothing...weren't willing to admit they were wrong or refund anything.
    I've spent a fortune with them in the last 12 months getting my Escalade up to how I want and they were not willing to help.
    Probably won't use them again for what could have been resolved easily.

    Thankfully Laura M from Cadillac Cust Service has been very helpful and I would recommend speaking to them if you have any problems.

    And Chris from the parts department of Rippy has helped greatly too! Thanks to both of them I've managed to source the correct parts....I hope anyway!

    Cheers Bruce.

    I've dealt with Billy a few times. I called him about it but he said his supplier was a lot dearer for brakes and I'd be best sourcing them myself.

    Cheers for the reply!
