    a/c blower on the blink

    03 EXT

first, i had the heated drivers side/normal pass side-havent fixed it yet as its no big deal, id turn it on and off a couple/few times and it
    would go back to normal

tonight, after work, fan was on high, tried to turn fan down, wouldnt, tried numerous times
hit power button, only switched air flow to floor
turned off key, fan stayed on
pulled both harnesses out of climate control in dash, fan still wouldnt stop
had to pull relay under hood to get fan to stop
    air was still cool
any suggestions or is it off to the tech to pull codes ?
    thanks in advance

    ----------

blower motor resistor OR blower motor module ?

    Its the blower control module
Its under the dash next to the blower behind the hush/kick panel
Remove three screws(1 is going to be a pita to get to)
    Remove the hush/kick panel
The module is right next to the blower

FYI when the system is shut off the floor position is the default rest position for the mode door

Re: a/c blower on the blink

i called caddy today to get price
they told me there are only 3 components to the system, blower fan, dash control and resistor under glove
i was under the impression there was a resistor AND a control module under glove
are they using another name ?
can someone clarify for me please ?

They may be thinking of some of the older systems(which does use the resistor pack)
The controls you use to adjust the system is the control module the works the whole hvac unit
The blower module is what the control module uses to control the blower motor

The manual hvac units use a resisitor pack for the blower the auto climate system uses a blower module

    I hope that was helpful

Warrenty depends on the dealer(mine don't cover electronic stuff)

Sounds like the temp door actuator is failing

Passenger side bottom of the dash

    Remove the hush/kick panel(3 screws)
FYI the screw near the tranny hump is a pain to get to

The actuator is pretty much in plain view
WARNING do NOT power up anything while doing this or you risk damaging the actuator while its removed

Two or three screws(I forget) hold it in place and remove the harness

Go to the dealer to get this as most parts stores are clueless(been there before)

Could have been a one time glitch
If it does it again replace it
