    Re: Ball joint replacement

I've done a few of these. What I ended up doing was cleaning out the inside of the knuckle with a wire brush or steel wool. I coat the new ball joint with dish soap to make it slippery and crank the ball joint in slowly. The soap trick always made getting it back in much easier in my experience.

I would probably go more abrasive and use plumber's emory cloth. Get all the rust and corrosion out.
