Low Oil Pressure on my 2005 Escalade

117K miles. Low oil pressure when I'm stuck in traffic or idling only. Dealer and a couple other mechanics checked the sending unit and it's OK. After reading various posts in this forum, I also tried a thicker oil 5-40 but still no help. Everyone tells me to get a rebuilt engine. Anyone knows where I can get a quality rebuilt engine and installed? I live in Pinole, California.
I also have a "Service Ride Control" and my auto-leveler doesn't function anymore. Not sure if this is related to my low oil pressure.
Any help or advise is appreciated.

Could your stepper motor be bad? Its the electronic motor that controls your oil gauge among others, there are 7 of them (stepper motors) in your gauge cluster.

Another thought might be the $3.00 oil pick up tube O ring that has deformed or hardened.

Service air ride has nothing to do with the oil pressure. You more than likely have to replace the air compressor and rear shocks to resolve that issue.

Re: Low Oil Pressure on my 2005 Escalade

where does your gauge typically sit at?

I had the "low oil pressure" warning once and then changed out the o-ring. Mine would hover around 1/4 to 1/8 on the pressure gauge, and now its between 1/2 and 1/4 . Took the truck on a 3000 mile road trip and didn't get the warning once after changing the o-ring, so I think its kosher. Most peoples gauges seem to be around the 1/2 mark all the time, but unless the engine is making all sorts of clattering sounds or a bunch of other racket, you probably don't have a serious issue. Mine still even sounded just like a Cadillac should before i changed the O-ring.

And did any of these shops actually check the pressure with a secondary gauge on the oil filter connection?

From my experience with these the oil pressure gauge and warning system is kind of finnicky and gives false readings on occasion.

gauge starts at 40psi. when driving, between 10-20. when stuck in traffic, drops and alarms.
