Just changed out my rear shocks with new Arnotts (nice!); how do I reset the message?

I still have 'Service Ride Control' on-screen after the shocks were replaced (they do ride very nicely). Does it have to be reset by a GM code scanner? Battery reset? Couldn't find a clear answer online for some reason. Thanks.

It means there is still a code in the system
I know as I had mine replaced lately and the message went away afterward

Yup, the message will clear the first time you start it if all systems are functioning.

Turn the key to on, no start and see if you hear the rear compressor pump kick on for a few seconds. It comes on up to 30 seconds or so after the key is on.

Best to have the truck in park also mine would kick on even with a door open

Crap, that's not what I want to hear. The dealer even told me before, 'yep, it's your rear shocks- I can tell by just looking at them'. If it's not my rear shocks, that was a damn expensive troubleshooting step. What else is there in this system that triggers the message? The relay and compressor? Will a code scanner pinpoint this?

I did the key-on with the door closed and the compressor kicked on for 4-5 seconds about 7 seconds after I turned the key. Did it twice to the same effect. Is this good or bad? The compressor seems to work fine, but I could be wrong.

You changed the shocks or had them changed?

I had my local Goodyear shop put them on. Too busy, too hot lately to do myself. Mea culpa.

I would go to a gm dealer and have it checked for codes with the tech-2

There is more sensors then you think involved in this system(believe me I know)
    4lift/dive sensors(one at each wheel
A steering wheel position sensor(yes it does double duty)
    A yaw/lateral sensor
Plus its tied into the PCM and ebcm for speed and braking sensing to react when you have to slam on the brakes(eg having to come to a dead stop from 40mph because the idoit two cars ahead of you decides to turn at the LAST second
I really had to do that yesterday and almost ended up in a four car pile up with a ambulance behind me all I could say was thank goodness I had good breakes)

    Hello Sentinelist,

I see you had a local shop replace your rear shocks. However, due to a code still being in your vehicle system, are you thinking about going to the dealership for their technician to scan for what the code may be? Reach out to me via private message so we can continue our interaction if you would like.
