    Escalade EXT engine swap

Why are the engines out of the newer generation EXT's (2007 and up) not compatible with the older EXT's. (2002 2006) What would have to be swapped out other than just the engine to make the the trade work. Asking because there are many of the newer engines available with low miles. Seems to be a shortage of the older engines available with low miles.

Why are you wanting to swap out your engine?

There is differences between the two

The mounts would most likely need swapping between the two and the PCM is different for the newer engine(not compatible with our trucks)

In all respects you would benefit more from a newer truck vs doing the engine swap

You might want to read this article that talks about how to simply bolt on 07+ heads to the older block for increased performance. http://www.superchevy.com/technical/...e/viewall.html
