How much did that cost you?...and what exactly does it do for you?...just smoother shifting?...

Search corvette servo online .it take like 30 min to install. It gives gears 1 threw 3 60 percent clamping pressure on clu Search tches. They also have a od servo to for 4th mainly used for towing. If u have any slip the servo will fix all slip issues. It make the truck shift firm. nice solid quick shift.causes less wear on clutches and transmission runs cooler. If u are tuned go back to stock line pressure or if custom tuned they can fix your tune for servo

You should do a write up on the install, I have been wanting to do one, this ultra smooth shifting tranny, really slows down my 0-60.

Yes cadillac man, the smooth shifting is nice, and I am sure running stock will not make too much of a difference in your 0-60 time. Since I have upgraded my blower though, I have really noticed a huge difference, these trannies were not really designed for speed on our trucks, yet the guts are pretty much identical to a corvette transmission. They are quite capable. My Z28 (yes its auto, but its what I could afford at the time.) pulls hard, with little drag on each shift. The Caddy pulls like a beast, till its time to shift. A Half to 3/4 second lag for a couple smooth shifts is BIG when your trying to pull a 6 second time.

that servo will kill all that smoothness. but its not harsh tho feels great heres a good write up. the difference between the corvette 4l65e and escalade 4l65e is the servo. http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=121944

Nothing working with it being like the tranny in the corvette as the engine itself was inspired by the corvette
But I have had it to the floor a few times and haven't noticed it but I would say if the engine had more horse power then I would notice it
Btw mine doesn't always shift smooth if I punch it on take off it changes the way it acts (my mom claimed it shifted like manual one time)
But I was a bit low on tranny fluid at that time so that might of had something to do with it

FYI there is nothing wrong with a auto in a sports car(they are just as durable as the manual tranny)
I know as my uncle worked at the gm power train plant and built transmissions like what's in our trucks(he is retired now)and probably others

Durability is not the problem. An auto trans takes control of the shifting away from the driver so keeping the engine in the rpm range that delivers most HP and torque is out of your hands. Additionally, automatics generally have fewer forward gears. For example, a four speed auto (1, 2, D, OD) will always take longer to accelerate than a 5 speed manual. Getting a good launch at the start is another problem with an auto. Hard to get those RPMs up without moving when there is no clutch pedal.

True but there is higher geared trannies being made now(I heard Chrysler is making a 8speed now) but the old stick shift is still being used on the track(its also a four speed) but the automatic tranny is mostly for fuel economy and I understand that
Though I had the rpms close to redline one time on a takeoff from a dead stop(not that I like having the engine rpms that high) and don't ask why I had to do that (and I don't think I will ever do that again) no I didn't shift it like a manual either(like some people I have heard of doing)

With a proper power brake at take off, the Automatic is quite capable of keeping up with the average joe on a stick, but when you run into someone who knows what they are doing, well, just pretend you really were not trying to race, your foot just slipped on the pedal. The biggest downside I think to the automatic, its not as fun to drive, you feel less in control, less like your the driver.
