Help with my 2005 Escalade ESV

I noticed hissing sounds while I was driving. The repair shop is telling me it's the front differential/gear lash. To fix with used part (140,000 miles) $1349 or a remanufactured for $2300. Any suggestions?

Also, the rear passenger window does not work. They tell me a window regulator is needed $353. Does this seem correct?

Not loving my Cadillac this week!

To tell if the window motor is bad try working the controls with the engine off along with the hvac blowers(you should hear a click of a relay as the switches are worked the interior lights should flicker as the switches are worked if the motor is getting power)

No clue on the diff though as I haven't had issues with my front diff yet

Do not put a front differential in that has anything over 50k miles on it or you will likely be doing it again soon. A remanufactured differential can usually be purchased for around $800-$1000. The rest of the cost is labor. Removing and replacing the front differential is not a job to undertake yourself unless you are pretty mechanically inclined and don't mind a 75lbs chunk of car laying on your chest.
