    need some shocks, please advise

my rear shocks are totally gone
i have a 2002 regular AWD caddy with over 200,000 miles
still runs smooth with the fresh tires I put on today, just need the shocks

however its my second vehicle and dont want to put more money into it, as i dont drive it much, but i do need it (to haul and such)

can anybody advise on some economical rear shocks to buy and where?

i see the monroe 40034 shocks is pretty good, but its like $230 or so per shock
trying to pay around $200 for both shocks. is that possible?

again i dont need anything fancy, i just need some basic shocks back there
    any help is greatly appreciated

Noob here. How do you KNOW when your shocks are gone? My Escalade had 230k miles on it, but it seems to ride fine. It takes turns well, and it doesn't bob up and down over bumps like I'd expect. But looking at the shocks themselves, they seem to 'look warn'.
