2003 Escalade EXT 6.0 "Throttle Position Sensor" HELP

Hi all, I have an 03 escalade 6.0 AWD. My check engine light came on and when I had it read, it said that I have a bad throttle position sensor.
    1. Where in the engine compartment is this sensor and is it hard to get to?
    2. Do I need to reset the computer after I replace this sensor?
    3. The dealer told me that I have to buy the whole throttle body unit?? And they want to charge me $600, when NAPA said they can sell me just the sensor for $55.

    Thanks for all the help!!

The guy at the dealer is right about it being the throttle body the guy at napa don't know what he is talking about get the throttle body at a parts place and put it on yourself it isn't hard I've done mine myself

Also you don't need to reset the computer but it is best to do a relearn by pulling the PCM fuse(I didn't do it on mine and haven't had any issues)

If the TPS is throwing a code you can replace just the TPS sensor and save yourself $550. The TPS is on the right side of the throttle body it has 2 screws and a plug. The throttle body is under the center cover, you need to remove the cover to get to the throttle body.

Why replace the whole throttle body when the TPS is the issue? Some of the answers people post on here are ridiculous.

The reason most suggest (myself included as I had done this) is that the sensors isn't the only thing that gets worn there is three sensors in the throttle body along with the motor(mine was making a noise like the motor was getting ready to fail so I replaced it so I don't risk getting out and break down

Don't be a critic on others answers before considering other things that may be wrong

Not being a critic but you back pedal a bit on here with your answers, and if you read what you wrote you just dismiss the problem and then dismiss what the parts guy is telling him about just purchasing a new TPS sensor. I am not here to jack the OP's thread and argue with you.

To the OP you can replace just the TPS and save yourself the money.

I ain't trying to argue but I do know that there is two sensors(in one unit) on the pedal base and three in the throttle body(also I have info on the drive by wire system used in these trucks)and from my experience with the system that the throttle position sensor like on the older throttle body unit(where it was cable driven)they did have a replaceable sensor now its a a.p.p. sensor on the gas pedal that is replaceable the ones in the throttle body aren't replaceable
And the pedal position sensor(on the gas pedal) is called the accelerator position sensor(app)
I have been busy today and haven't been thinking clearly because of it so cut me some slack
