    blend door actuator ?????

On my esv my heat only works on 90, 89 and it will come out cold. Same when ac is on its the same from 60-89, I like the 70-72 mark but its basically the ac. Idk what this is or where to start off with. Basically during winter time either I have it on 90 at all timecause 89 is pretty much ac, and summer i can have it on 60 even though I can put it on 89 and it will still be ac cold. I found some info from here something about a air mix blend actuator. Since there are a more than one I wanna mame sure I get it right the first time. Thanks

The actuator for the drivers side temp door(if it just does it on the drivers side) is on the bottom of the dash on the passenger side you will need to remove three screws(one is a pita to get to so I suggest leaving it out its at the tranny hump)

then remove the panel and you will see the actuator for the drivers side temp door remove the two screws(do NOT have the key on at this time or you can damage the actuator)and the actuator works out with little fuss(I had the opposite in the summer with the heat going full blast on the driver yet ice cold on the passenger I had to take the actuator apart and clean the position contacts haven't had a problem since.

That's what it sounds like I suggest having the tech-2 connected to the truck to see for sure.

Ok I borrowed a friends air controls from his 04 Z71 Tahoe, and my truck soes the same thing even with his contols and hos truck operates fine. I'm clueless guys, I mean I'm used to having the truck on 90 now but after a while of driving it kinda sucks. Literally feels like me heats on cremation lol.

Temp door stuck and/or failed unless it is a sensor
Try this turn the blower all the way down and work the temp controls
FYI three screws and you can remove the kick panel under the right side of the dash(7mm socket) and you have access to the drivers side actuator
If the actuator moves then its good if it don't then its bad
Unless its a sensor(which are buried in the dash but one is accessible behind the radio) still would need a tech-2 to be sure but I think it still would let you control the temp door(again not sure)

Thanks Cadillac man, ill give it a try. Also what do these sensors look like, and how can a tech two possibly figure it out if its not throwing a code.

You can tell each component what to do with the tech 2(eg turning on the air shock compressor at the touch of a button) plus it gives the readouts of the temp sensors for the hvac system

There is a in car temp sensor(in the headliner above the drivers seat)and a air duct sensor for each side in the front and in the heat duct for each side
The rear system is almost identical to the front but for a single zone and has the same style sensors

FYI I have a service manual that covers both systems if you want I can email them to you
