Got 22" Platinum Rims on my 2005 ESV

    22s.jpg

Got these today from a guy with a 2012 EXT that was getting a set of custom 24" rims. These have the Bridgestone Dueler 285-45/R22 H rated tires with 6000 miles. We had a tire shop swap my TPM's over to the 22's...the computer picked them up...no problem.

Tremendous difference in ride and handling. These are exactly what I have been looking for...the ESV looks "Complete" with these.

These are the 17" Standard Aluminum Rims (top photo) that I had on originally. The 22" rims were an upgrade from the "base" 18" or 20" rims from 2007 thru current model year depending on which trim level you order. Th 22" rim was not available from the factory in 2005..only up to 20".

With good tires, expect to pay $1500~$2500 for a set of OEM "Takeoffs" depending on mileage and condition. These rims and tires purchased separately and new would cost over $3000. I watched Craigslist and E Bay for several weeks before I came across this set. Let me just say I did very well on this purchase of "New" OEM 22" rims and tires.

Your ride looks much better now. I scored the exact same set off of CL last year and replaced those 17" ones like you had, made a world of difference in looks and the ride is so much better. Have received many complements on them. FYI though....the "platinum" rims look like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Real-Ge...7c35f1&vxp=mtr What we have are just called 22" Chrome Caddy rims.

I've been looking for a set of OEM Chromed 22's too. Prefer the regular 22's over the Premium ones. Looks good....one day I'll find a set for the right price

I drove down to Pompano Beach today in 50 mph winds and the ESV is much more stable than with the 17"'s

Your ride is really looking nice. They are much more stable at speeds, these trucks should have came with these to start with.

Here is mine with the old rims...

    and the new ones...

I think it's part of the overall visual impact of an Escalade. An Escalade is such a massive vehicle anyway anything less than 20"'s looks a bit out of proportion relative to the vehicle size and gets lost in the wheel opening.

Agreed, I am staring at our 20's (factory 9 spoke) with new Michelins and they just don't "fill" the wheel well like the 22's above.
