    2000 escalde dependability

Hey people, new to the site, first off I have a 2002 sts, which I have had for abou 3 years, My family has since grown , so now thinking of tradin in for a 2000 escalade, would rather a 2002 or newer, for more power and third row seat at least, but none seem to be in good conditiion for the prices I can pay, I have found a 2000 in great condition with 97,000 miles, and better than most in my area since it is from Tennesee, and not Cleveland where I live, it is going for 8900, just wonder if it is a wise trade, I do love my sts and would miss the power, i wont miss adding a qt of oil once a week though, any thoughts on this would be helpful

Well the stability system was updated along with the hid low beams which I find are safer to drive with at night.

If you are do-it-yourself mechanic, and like the body style of the 2000 escalade, it would probably be the wiser choice in my opinion. The reason I say this is because the 2000 body style will have many parts the are interchangeable with all of GM's full size truck line from 1988 through 2000. Even though this wasn't the best selling year for the Escalade, there are tons of Tahoes, Yukons and trucks out there of this style which means there are a lot of aftermarket products available and also many donor vehicles for parts.
