    Another front diff casualty...

    52K mile 2004 EXT, full diff/xfer case/trans service done at 48K miles....

Started w/the whining a month or so ago. Most noticeable starting at just under 40MPH, when coasting or at stationkeeping throttle. And then sometimes when decelerating...

Took it in today, went maybe 2 blocks, service mgr said "Yep, front diff..."

Thank sweet mother Mary that I have another month on my GMPP......

How can you have another month on your GMPP? I guess it's a better plan than the one I got when I bought my 2006 Certified Used ESV in 2008. You're a lucky man!

    Re: Another front diff casualty...

It's an '04 that went into service in fall of '03. I bought it CPO in Aug of '07 w/only 12K miles -- so it still had a couple of months of factory warranty left (plus the CPO warranty). When I bought it, I added 5 years/75K miles of GMPP. I'm on my 3rd or 4th nav system, and now a front diff...I guess it was worth it... One more month of warranty, and one more payment (!)

Got it back -- took a little more than a day. $2500 repair for a $200 deductible... Whew...

Drives great and quiet as a mouse now.
