So the other day I noticed that when my sunroof is open, (not vented) and I'm driving, I hear a clicking noise, metal on metal. I looked around and found that I can wiggle the driver side of the entire window up and down just enough to make the noise. So basically it looks like the wind is "bouncing" the entire glass piece up and down which in turn, makes the noise. Passenger side, no wiggle and no noise. It looks like the piece that is attached to the window is just making contact with the track when I wiggle it. Interestingly enough, if you close the window halfway or so, you can't wiggle it at all, it's nice and tight.
Any thoughts? Is there anything I can tighten beside those 4 torx screws, as I believe those are to adjust the glass height? Maybe just some grease will help?
Re: Slight sunroof "clicking" when open and driving
Some well placed all purpose grease took care of the noise. Open, closed and vented the roof a few times to work the grease into the tracks and viola. Those who have higher mileage, take some time and check out your sunroof tracks. You may benefit from a light coating of grease.
