Would my backup sensor system go nuts if I tapped into the pass. backup bulb?

I used the positive wire to provide voltage for a reverse trigger for a backup camera system I just installed (a few pics and lots of successful info forthcoming if you're following that thread). Ever since I started carefully disassembling several interior trim pieces, whenever the ESV is in reverse, the backup sensor lights all flash on and the chime starts immediately donging like it's about to hit something- the full tilt last pattern tone. Ahhhhhhh!

The only thing I can come up with is the system is shorting out because I tapped the passenger side taillamp assy. for the positive backup lamp wire. If it's not a secure connection, I wonder if that's the cause. It was doing this before that tap was even connected to anything on the other end in the dash. Ideas?

highly unlikely because i installed my back-up camera system by powering it off of the back-up light circuit sounds like the sensors need cleaning unless one of the sensors has gone nutty

Thanks. Happened pretty much at the same time I hooked the whole thing up, so I don't think it's coincidence.

Are there any controllers for this behind the pass. rear cargo panel where the 12V power point is? I had to pull this out a bit to tap that for the camera's power... pulled down the D-pillar trim as well.

I know on mine the rear park assist sensor module is under the second row passenger seat there is a test harness next to it about three inches away.

No hitch, haven't touched the 2nd row seats... any other thoughts? I'm pretty sure it's something behind that panel in the back I may have knocked loose. Haven't had a chance to crack it back open yet.

Have you looked at the sensors? I would think it was one of hem that is going nuts. Nothing on the bulb should do that

If you can get to the module for the park asset then you can run the test mode and see if you have a sensor that has failed.

I can look at them, and they're there- what can I do to test them?
