2002 EXT Steering Problems / Grinding when turning

Iíd like help in trying to correct a long-standing problem Iíve had with my 2002 Escalade EXT regarding the steering. There is grinding and clunking when turning. It sounds and feels like the front end will fall apart.
I've seen reference to Safety Report #000235003: FAILED STEERING . CLUNKING NOISE UNDER HOOD AND CAN BE FELT IN STEERING WHEEL.
Iíve had it worked on a number of times by two Cadillac dealerships, but continues to have the same problem. What can I do?

Where you able to find anything out or get this issue resolved? I am having somewhat of the same problem and after taking it to several places, no one seems to know what is going on. I thought it was coming from my front tires but everything seems has checked out ok. Also, mine seems to only do it after driving for an extended period of time, like an hour or so. Does this happen to you at all?

Have the steering intermediate shaft replaced that is what is causing the clunk in the steering

Just replaced mine with a new timkin and no more clunking while turning or hitting a bump. After I mistakinly changed the front a arm I might add.

    Did you do it yourself?

If not, is there a DIY guide?
