    Clunk in Front Differential????

    2005 with 53,000 miles.

With my foot on the brake from neutral to drive I hear a clunk/loud click from I believe the front differential or transfer case. I laid under the truck while someone did this and it is very loud. Every time I shift from neutral then to drive it makes this noise. Any ideas from anyone?

Never had it before. Not something I would think would just start all of a sudden. It does however seem like slack. Any other suggestions?

there is a tsb on this if you don't think it is normal go to any dealer and let them hear it but most likely it is normal considering there is slack in the drivetrain unless you are moving hence the reason you don't hear it after the truck is in gear.

Got it on my lift. Sounds like it might be in the transfer case. Got a friend that owns an AAMCO. Gonna have him check it out....
