Thinking about adding a second battery.

I was working on the truck today in the driveway and had the stereo on for about an hour and fifteen minutes when it suddenly stopped playing, dead battery. It's a good battery, charged back up and has the normal 13v afterward. It sits for a week or two at a time without being started and fires right up when called upon so I know it's not a bad/weak battery.

I was quite surprised to drain the battery this quickly. I've had other high power factory systems in the past and never managed to drain the battery in only a couple of hours of radio use. My previous STS with 12 speaker system never left me with a dead battery in only an hour or two.

So, what kinds of dual battery setups are any of you running? I've seen a couple of eBay setups but I'd like to know what everyone here is recommending.

Sounds like your battery is developing a bad cell I know I have been there, I ended up replacing mine when my rear air module failed so I didn't have to worry about it being dead on me while I was out somewhere.
Ps mine barely lasted a hour with my old battery even though i could start my truck just fine with a boost later and now it lasts a longer although since I have a optima red top I don't leave my radio on much cause it is a pain to recharge the battery also the truck starts better with the new battery.
