    I can't get the caliper bolts off! 05 escalade

    I had that problem a few times over the years. What ended up working for me was using a large wrench and a good size hammer. A couple of good whacks usually broke it loose so that I could remove the bolt.

    Other than an impact wrench I don't think there are too many alternatives.

    HEAT

    Heat the parts of the calipers that the bolts thread into, but not the bolts. You don't have to get them glowing orange, but get them hot. Once they warm up, use a breaker bar on your wrench and they'll bust right loose. You can get a common propane torch at any hardware store for $15 or less.

    You can try spraying them with PB Blaster penetrating lubricant and letting it sit overnight, but if those bolts are loc-tite it won't help.

    Ah yes, I forgot about that. They usually do have loc-tite on them good point, heat definately helps there. I had the use a propane torch on a few vehicles over the years for hub bearing bolts.
