It seems to be that 03 was the last year for the external fuel filter. None of the parts sources I use can even find a listing for an 05. I looked under the driver door and didn't see a filter on mine either.

    Re: 2005 escalade fuel filter

The fuel filter on an '05 is a strainer that is located on the bottom of the fuel pump inside the tank. I have been told that when one shuts off the engine, any debris will settle down to the bottom of the tank.

Hard to believe that an EFI vehicle doesn't have a real fuel filter somewhere. A strainer in the tank is okay for a '69 Camaro with a carburetor, but not a high-pressure EFI system.

    Believe it!

I know it sucks, I would rather have a filter to change at service intervals.

U r correct sir. I installed a Delphi pump in my 05. The strainer in the tank actually works well. It's in the fuel pump assembly as one unit. At 130k miles the tank was very clean
