    Location of oil sending unit?

Hello All, This is my 1st post.
We just recently purchased a 2003 escalade ext. From day one my oil guage has been pegged out to
80PSI, with no movement what so ever. I went out & purchased a new sending unit. For the life of
me I can not locate where to remove the old one & to install the new one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Re: Location of oil sending unit?

The sending unit is located at the top of the block at the rear . It is easier to replace from underneath, but I doubt that the sending unit is your problem. The problem is in the gauge itself. The step motor is bad. Look on E-Bay there are companies that will replace all the step motors for around 150.00.

if the needle don't move when you turn the key off then it is the stepper motor not the oil sending unit plus you would be getting a oil pressure warning on the dic below the speedometer.

Thank you very much sure help indeed it ended up being the sending unit. When we finally got to it, it was also leaking profusely. I will find out tomorrow if it took care of that pressure gauge. Anyways thanks again
