Question Want to replace air ride with gas shocks! Whats the best route???

Want to replace air ride with gas shocks! Whats the best route???

I replaced my air compressor with an Arnott about 3-4 months ago and it runs alot still. It's only a matter of time before it kicks the bucket. I think I'd like to go with gas shocks and get rid of the air ride.
How do I do it and not get a code??

This is easy. There is a fuse/relay to pull and tuck the wires and replace the shockeS I did this 2 weeks ago and it was worth it. There is a thread in hear about all the details on the fuse

How long did it take you to swap everything out?

I also switched over to gas shocks I would also recommend changing out the springs with Tahoe springs if you do some towing or have a full load of people riding with you alot.

Regular Tahoe springs or Z71 springs? I thought they had different specs. I'm new to the Escalade so I'm still getting familiar with it's ride. I'm not new to Cadillacs however and have dealt with Arnott twice for my 94 and 98 Eldorados. They make a good product.

You can use either but I used Z71 I think the Z71 springs make the truck sit about an inch higher than regular Tahoe springs. The springs from the Escalade make the truck sag after you switch over to gas shocks.

Put 6 or 7 people in it or tow a boat and watch it sag. I hope it rides better with new gas shocks considering the air shocks were probably shot.

I am thinking about the monroe set. I can't find anything on the net about how they work. Are they like air shocks, put air in with an air hose? Do they hook up to the compressor? All I see is pics of the shocks and they look like there is a connector near the top of the rear shocks.

Anyone have the Part Numbers for the Z71 Rear Springs? Thanks in advance.
