Re: Arnott OEM rear shock rebuilds - Warning to purchasers

whats going to happen is that AreNot will be forced to change their wording on their website and any related media and then they will just keep doing business the same way as they always have been. Its very important to let other potential purchasers know exactly what they are getting and this thread is doing just that for us. I am damn glad that we both pursued actually calling and getting the rep to admit the truth. I for one will never do business with them, and who knows how many hundreds if not thousands of customers they dupped into believing they were getting "completely rebuilt" product when in reality they were getting others throw-a-ways, cores, whatever you want to call them.

The compressor is a much different animal than a shock and "could" be rebuilt depending on proper machining which Arnott seems to have. I would want to know specifically what they do and use to rebuild a compressor - is the pump cylinder sleeved and with what material or just bored out slightly. New motor or just new armature, or neither if it still runs??? What other new parts etc.

Re: Arnott OEM rear shock rebuilds - Warning to purchasers

    Worthy of a BUMP!

I came VERY close to buying the "OEM rebuilt" rears. The only reason I hesitated to purchase was because they didn't offer "OEM rebuilt" fronts. Seemed odd that they would offer OEM rears and not fronts. The sales rep on the phone couldn't explain why they offer only rebuilt rears. So, I've been investigating the topic and came across this. THANKS for pointing out this scam.

So what say you sage forum? I just tried to order the OEM rear shocks and they are out of stock at all the GM parts distribution plants. Is there someone else who offers a quality product?

At Arnott, Inc., our compressors are NEW – not rebuilt – and include NEW vibration isolators and a rebuild kit for your air dryer at no additional cost! That compressor looked to good to be rebuilt... It might come from a different place, i received the compressor 2 days before the shocks and they left the compressor on the porch but i had to sign for the shocks

Weather or not the package is left on the door is up to the delivery driver, even if you checked the box that says no signature required
