Air ride question - Air release?

I have a new air compressor purchased from Arnott. Before I started having problems with my air ride, after I shut the truck off you would hear an exhaust or air release from the air ride. Now I do not ever hear that and when the rear shocks are pumped up from towing the truck stays jacked up in the rear after I disconnect, looks terrible until the air leaks out slowly on its own. Does anyone know if this air exhaust is something releated to the air compressor or is it something else I can check? Not a big deal, just annoying.

    Thanks

As far as I know the exhaust solenoid is only there to ease compressor startup. It will not activate to lower the rear end once you take trailer off. You can manually depressurize system by unplugging output hose from the compressor. You must've had a major air leak before on the old unit?

yeh thats what i was thinking too because i have never heard any kind of deflation noise... but surely there must be some kind of system to decrease the pressure on its own.

Strange indeed. It would do it since it I bought it almost new. It would release air a minute or two after the truck turned off, so it is not the exhaust solenoid. I am surprised nobody else has heard this. Oh well, like I said it is not a big deal.

My 04 will do the same thing. It will pump up and then release air....you hear a big rush of air then will pump up again for a sec or 2
